No location on your work order? Basementgrid adds a default location using your workspace name and address. Here's how it works and how to change it.

How it works

You don't have to choose a location every time you create a work order. If you leave it blank, Basementgrid adds a default location to the work order for you.

The default location uses your workspace details:

  • Name: the same as your workspace name
  • Address: your workspace address

For example, if your workspace is called "Sunrise Towers MCST", work orders with no location are tagged to the location "Sunrise Towers MCST", with the workspace address.

When is it useful?

The default location suits work that covers the whole estate or doesn't belong to one spot, like general cleaning issues, estate-wide inspections, or a fault you can't pin down yet. It also means no work order is ever left without a location.

If the work belongs to a specific place, like a pump room or a lift lobby, choose that location instead. It makes the work order easier for vendors and technicians to find. See Locations for how to add one.

How to change the default address

The default location takes its address from your workspace profile. To change it:

  1. Go to Workspace settings > Workspace profile.
  2. Update the address.
  3. Save.

Work orders that use the default location will then show the new address.
