If your estate’s operational requirements change, you can downgrade your workspace plan to a lower tier or cancel your paid subscription entirely directly within the mobile app.
Step-by-Step Guide: Downgrading or Canceling
Only workspace Admins can change or cancel plan subscriptions.
-
Access Settings: Tap Workspace Settings in the top-left corner of the Home Page.
-
Open Upgrade Area: Tap Upgrade.
-
Select Action: Tap the Switch Plan or Cancel button located under the relevant plan card.
-
Choose Target Tier: Select either Switch to Basic Plan or Cancel Paid Plan (returns to Free tier), then tap Continue.
-
Select Billing Cycle: (Downgrade only) Select your preferred billing frequency (Monthly or Annual).
-
Confirm Request: Review your selection and tap Confirm.
How Plan Changes Take Effect
-
When Downgrading (e.g., Pro to Basic): An updated invoice reflecting your new tier will be sent to your billing address. Once settled, your workspace tier adjusts to the lower plan limits.
-
When Canceling Paid Subscription: No new invoice or payment is required. Your paid features remain active for the remainder of your current billing period. Once the paid cycle ends, your workspace automatically converts to the Free Plan.
Important Data & Feature Rules After Downgrading or Canceling
When moving to a lower tier or returning to the Free plan, your historical data is never deleted, but system limits and feature freezes apply immediately:
-
Admin Seats: Extra Admin accounts exceeding your new tier limit (2 for Basic, 1 for Free) automatically demote to Collaborators.
-
Assets & Locations: All saved items remain in your permanent ledger, but creating new assets or editing existing ones will freeze if your total exceeds your cap (50 for Basic, 10 for Free).
-
Form Templates: Template creation and editing freeze if your active templates exceed the lower limit (3 for Basic, 1 for Free).
-
Work Order Forms: Jobs on Basic or Free plans fallback to a maximum of 1 active form template per work order.
-
Work Order History: If reverting to the Free plan, active historical access adjusts to a rolling 90-day log.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will canceling or downgrading delete my building history or work orders? No. Basementgrid protects your property history. Downgrading limits your ability to create new items or edit past limits, but all previous records remain safely stored.
What happens if I change my mind before the subscription end date? If you cancelled your plan but want to remain on a paid tier, you can re-select an upgrade anytime under Workspace Settings > Upgrade before or after the billing period ends.
